Fiddle Festival of Wales / Gwyl Ffidil Cymru
Description:

Held in the National Trust’s Stackpole Centre, Pembrokeshire, FFoW is the most unique gathering of musicians in Wales. It is residential and has over the past three years developed a community of fiddlers from various backgrounds, all with an interest in traditional Welsh tunes. The centre provides accommodation, workshop and performance areas, with room for relaxation, in a comfortable, clean and accessible environment.
This year's guest concert on Thursday 28th August 2008, will be by former Fairport Convention and Whippersnapper fiddler Dave Swarbrick with Kevin Dempsey and supported by Wales' newly adopted bard and Eisteddfod winner, Les Barker and his hilarious poems.
Concert tickets are available NOW at £15.00 and selling fast already! Call David 01646 621269

Our tutors will be: Cass Meurig (Cymru/Wales); Liz Doherty (Ireland); Lori Watson (Scotland); Pat Smith & Siân Phillips (Cymru/Wales); Goran Premberg (Sweden), Pete Cooper (England); Iolo Jones (Cymru/Wales); Rick Townend (Bluegrass, England); John Carpenter (Cymru/Wales), our fiddle doctor will be on site holding surgeries! Dave Swarbrick will be giving a 60 minute masterclass on Friday.

SNOWDON FIDDLE FESTIVAL / GWYL FFIDIL YR WYDDFA
Description:

June/Mehefin 14 2008

Set in the tiny picturesque village of Nant Peris, at the foot of Snowdon, the festival has become known for its warm and friendly atmosphere.
Festivities start on the Friday night with an open session in the cosy back room of the Vaynol Arms.
During the day on Saturday there are workshops for fiddle and other instruments including a chance to try out the crwth (a medieval bowed lyre), clog dancing sessions and events for children including storytelling, climbing and puppet shows. Following the fun last year, there will be an open-mike concert in the pub at lunchtime, followed by an all-afternoon session to which all are welcome.
The evening concert takes place in the beautiful atmospheric setting of the medieval church of St Peris, conveniently situated next to the pub for the session afterwards!

Pentref bach tlws Nant Peris ar odre’r Wyddfa ydy cartre’r wyl, sydd wedi dod yn adnabyddus am ei naws cartrefol, cynnes.
Mae’r dathlu yn cychwyn nos Wener gyda sesiwn agored yn ystafell gefn glyd y Vaynol Arms.
Yn ystod y dydd Sadwrn mae gweithdai ffidil ac offerynnau eraill gan gynnwys siawns i drio’r crwth (hen offeryn Cymreig), yn ogystal â chocsio a gweithgareddau i blant megis chwedleua, dringo a sioe pypedau. Yn dilyn yr hwyl gawsom ni llynedd, bydd cyngerdd meic-agored yn y dafarn eto amser cinio, i’w dilyn gan sesiwn agored drwy’r prynhawn; croeso i bawb ymuno.
Lleolir y cyngerdd gyda’r nos yn eglwys ganoloesol brydferth Sant Peris, drws nesa i’r dafarn - yn gyfleus iawn ar gyfer y sesiwn wedyn!
