Many people have been asking me about the festival campsite, the most common questions are:
- Is there a campsite?
- Do we need to book?
- Are there showers?
- Is there a quiet area?
- Can I bring my camper van/caravan?
- Are we allowed to light fires/bbqs?
Find the answers here
Is there a campsite? - Simply, yes.
Do we need to book? - We would advise you to book, we had about 200 campers last year and the camp site was almost full, we hope to be a little bit more organised this year so we will have space for 300 tents.
Are there showers? - Yes, there are free hot showers in the outside toilet/shower block of the Leisure Centre for campers. There are showers in the Leisure Centre also, but, you will probably be expected to pay for their use.
Is there a quiet area? - simply, no! This is a music festival and it is impossible to police a quiet are, I have found that the furthest areas of the field tend to be quieter, but that can not be guaranteed.
Can I bring my camper van/caravan? - Yes, you will be required to place it away from the tents and you will be expected to keep a 6m gap between you and your neighbours on either side.
Are we allowed to light fires/bbqs? - No! The festival is located on Leisure Centre playing fields and we have to respect that other people will wish to play sports on the field the week following the festival - we are afraid that we can not allow any damage to happen to the grass. Our hands are tied on this one sorry.
CAMPERS BEWARE!!
We are getting reports of tent robbers active at several festivals this year...and they could be on their way to Pontardawe!
The word is that they are professional gangs who buy tickets and then, while you're enjoying the music, rifle their way through your tent.
Please take every precaution you can to protect your belongings, especially valuables.
